Board of Commissioners
The City of Ashland, KY is governed by a City Manager system. In this structure, citizens elect a Mayor and four Commissioners to the Board of Commissioners. This Board then appoints a City Manager, who acts as the chief administrative officer, overseeing the city's daily operations. The Board, elected through non-partisan elections, includes a Mayor serving a four-year term and Commissioners, each serving two-year terms. Their responsibilities encompass passing ordinances, approving the budgeting committees, and making decisions regarding employee appointments and terminations.

There are four contested Ashland City Commissioner seats in the upcoming elections. Candidates are listed as non-partisan, as required by Kentucky law.

Ashland City Commissioner candidates include Jeremy Lowrance, Amanda Clark, Fred Unrue and Socrates Maroudis.
