The Office of the President also refers to the institution itself, as defined by Article II of the US Constitution. This encompasses the President's roles as: Chief Executive: Responsible for implementing and enforcing laws, appointing federal officials, and issuing executive orders. Commander in Chief: Head of the US military and responsible for directing armed forces. Chief Diplomat: Leader in developing and implementing US foreign policy, negotiating treaties, and appointing ambassadors. Head of State: Symbolic leader representing the United States.

The Senate & Kentucky’s 5th Congressional District
Each state elects two senators to the United States Senate for staggered 6-year terms. Senators represent the entire state.​ The United States is divided into 435 congressional districts, each with a population of about 710,000 individuals. Each district elects a representative to the U.S. House of Representatives for a two-year term. ​
