Lincoln Dinners, often referred to as Lincoln Day Dinners, are primarily held to honor Abraham Lincoln's legacy of serving as the first Republican president, his role in preserving the nation during the Civil War and abolishing slavery. These events serve as opportunities for GOP members and supporters to gather. The dinners also provide a platform for Republican candidates and elected officials to connect with voters, share their messages, and address concerns.

For instance, a current issue at the forefront is overcoming the impact that the ongoing government shutdown is having across our NEKY communities and the Commonwealth. This particular Lincoln Dinner will provide elected GOP officials an opportunity to discuss with supporters how they have overcome obstacles to meet the needs of residents of our communities during the shutdown. Beyond just candidate appearances, Lincoln Dinners encourage civic engagement and discussion about these types of important political issues.

This year’s keynote speaker is KY Senator Robin L. Webb, District 18. Master of Ceremonies is Mr. Tom Roten, host of The Tom Roten Show. Current confirmed guest speakers include Mr. Eric Chaney, Boyd County Judge Executive, and Kentucky businessmen Mr. Nate Morris and Mr. Michael Faris, candidates for Kentucky's open U.S. Senate seat. Mr. Morris and Mr. Faris will each share their vision in NEKY during the event for the future of conservatism across the Commonwealth. In addition, invited guest speakers include KY US Senate candidates Congressman Andy Barr and Former Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron.

While members of the Republican Party of Kentucky share certain conservative principles, they often diverge on policy priorities, leadership choices, and strategies for governance. Particularly, GOP candidates for Kentucky’s open seat for the 2026 U.S. Senate display a rich diversity of viewpoints. A wide array of ideological strands, campaign approaches, and personal narratives has emerged, creating a competitive and dynamic primary contest. These internal differences are shaped by varying interpretations of conservatism, differing relationships to national political figures, and contrasting visions for the Commonwealth’s future.

The BCRP stands united in promoting the core conservative values that reflect Boyd County and our region's traditional roots. The BCRP knows that voters in Kentucky’s Fifth Congressional District care most about the issues that affect their homes, families, and communities. That’s why the BCRP not only supports local elections—but also partners with neighboring GOPs to strengthen conservative leadership region-wide. In particular this 2025 Lincoln Dinner event, hosted by the Boyd County Republican Party at the beautiful Bellefonte Country Club, will serve to bring together representatives from multiple counties across the region. Proceeds from the event benefit local GOP support to Republican campaigns across the Northeastern KY region.

Our all-volunteer organization is making every effort to coordinate with the campaigns of local, regional, and statewide candidates and elected officials. There have been multiple planning committee meetings and many long hours have gone into each of the details involved behind the scenes to make this event a success. There will also be a silent auction to support the Boyd County Republican Women's Group annual scholarship program. With this level of attention to the details, the BCRP volunteers intend to create a warm and welcoming environment during which guests can enjoy a unique local experience while working together and sharing ideas which strengthen our communities.
